Energy balls

Fuelling your longer runs is important but it can be difficult to find the right thing and many people do not get on with energy gels.

If you are looking for something different to fuel your long run this weekend, give these easy to make, super tasty energy balls a try.

They are easy to digest, taste great and give you the hit of carbohydrates you need. They can be made in advance and kept in the fridge or make a batch of them to freeze and simply take out of the freezer the night before.

  • 1 cup of dates
  • 1 cup of dried cherries
  • 1 cup of cashews
  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Blend in a mixer and divide into 30g portions.

Wrap each one in a little bit of foil and cling film and either refrigerate or freeze.
